January 2026 | Updates to the Laser 2000 Team
Laser 2000 is implementing strategic adjustments to its corporate organization, thereby underscoring its commitment to linking customer requirements even more closely with the technical expertise of our suppliers and internal specialists. Since January 2026, Alexandre Besson has been responsible for collaboration with supplier and technology partners in his role as Strategic Supplier Manager. Against the backdrop of current market developments and customer needs, he evaluates new partnerships, drives the expansion of existing collaborations - such as into additional business areas — and intensifies communication with partners. Martin Labus, who like Alexandre Besson can look back on many years with Laser 2000, was promoted to Senior Photonics Advisor effective January 1, 2026. This appointment recognizes Martin Labus’s work, particularly in the fields of infrared imaging, spectroscopy, and hyperspectral technology. The Photonic Advisor team is one of Laser 2000’s unique differentiators in the market, as it enables the company not only to offer comprehensive feasibility studies but also to guarantee the highest level of technical consulting quality for its customers. Thomas Wimmer, optoelectronics engineer, machine vision specialist, and member of the Laser 2000 team since 2024, will now focus entirely on his role as a Photonic Advisor. In the company’s in-house laboratory, he works with partners to test new application possibilities for camera systems and sensors and supports the sales team in the field. “I am proud of our expert team, which is driving forward my vision of intelligently combining technologies into customized solutions together with me. By realigning roles, the individual strengths of our colleagues can now be deployed even more effectively - for the benefit of our customers and the entire team,” says Marcel Pabst, CEO of Laser 2000. December 2025 | Case Study: Precise Laser Triangulation for Efficient Meat/Fish Processing
Accuracy, process reliability, and efficiency play a crucial role in industrial food processing. A recent customer project demonstrates how modern laser technology successfully meets these requirements. The L2S-SL-660-35-S-B-30-24V-KCL2M-SF2 Streamline Laser is used for precise laser triangulation to measure the volume of meat portions. After the weighing process, the captured volume data is used to cut the meat precisely and according to demand. This minimizes material waste and significantly increases yield. A key advantage of the laser used is its Laser Safety Class 2 rating. The system complies with all German occupational safety standards, meaning no additional laser safety goggles are required. This not only simplifies integration into existing production lines but also ensures a safe and user-friendly working environment. The solution stands out in particular due to its very high measurement accuracy, enabling stable and reproducible results—an essential factor for automated cutting processes in the food industry. This is complemented by the proven, reliable quality of Osela lasers, which have demonstrated their performance even under demanding production conditions. Julia Matthias Contact: Nadja Weindl |
