Description

12 bit camera system TaperCamD (1" CMOS/USB3.0) with fiber optica taper 25 mm x 25 mm

The TaperCamD system was designed for the analysis of extended laser beams with a compact, high resolution 12-Bit digital CMOS camera. The camera features a 4,2 MPixel CMOS-chip with 5,5 x 5,5 µm pixel size and 11,3 x 11,3 mm (1") full active area. Together with the fiber optic taper an active area of 25 x 25 mm with an effective pixel size of 12,5 x 12,5 µm can be used.

A complete system consists of the camera head, a USB3.0 interface, connecting cable (3 m) and software. The camera is powered via the USB port, so there is no need for an additional power supply.

The CMOS version of the TaperCamD product family is used mainly to measure extended optical structures and spots of cw and pulsed lasers or other optical sources. Due to the high SNR is is also the best choise to measure the spatial distribution of very weak optical signals.

Highlights

  • 11,3 x 11,3 mm active chip area with 5,5 x 5,5 µm pixel, 4,2 MPixel, fiber optic taper (not detachable)
  • Wavelength range from 350 nm to 1150 nm.
  • Pulsed laser auto-trigger and synchronisation; TTL (In/Out)
  • Exposure time manual or automatic between 79 µs and 2 s
  • No external power supply needed

Options

The camera is compatible with all C-mount optics/lenses. As standard, the camera comes without the faceplate in front of the chip. To protect the sensor chip and to eliminate ambient light, the cameras are delivered with a ND filter in a C-mount ring. This low distortion face plate is carefully selected for laser applications and mounted at a certain angle in the mounting ring. To measure lasers of less than 400 nm wavelength, the filter has to be changed to a fused silica based attenuator.
